Project Archive: The Gamelatron Residency at TechShop San Fransisco Dates: October 1 - June 1, 2012 Location: 910 Howard Street at 5th Street SOMA San Francisco Description: Techshop is a membership based art and fabrication facility that offers state of the art tools and equiptment to a growing community of inventors, makers, hackers, tinkerers, artists, roboteers, and entrepreneurs. WIRED interview, Feb 29, 2012 While serving as TechShop's first resident artist, Taylor Kuffner installed a Gamelatron set featuring 26 gongs, and 8 cymbals with sculptural ornamentation by Rosanna Scimeca in the annex meeting space beside TechShop's flagship San Francisco studio location. During the Gamelatron show period Kuffner is working out of Techshop fabricating robots and mounting systems in an effort to construct a Gamelatron dedicated to servicing the west coast of the Americas and the Pacific Rim.
